  • Condition: The gutta percha type case is in very good condition. It has a chip missing on one side and a small crack to the case. The gold paint has some minor loss areas but it is still very attractive. Please see pictures.

    Description

    This is an Original US Civil War Era Gold Paint Accented Double Image Gutta Percha Type Case.
    The case is very attractive. It has the same design on both side of the case.
    The design is of a man armed with a musket, a sword and what looks like some type of long dagger.
    He is looking at a very nicely dressed woman who is holding on to his arm.
    The case is about 7 3/4 inches wide overall.
    I think that the tintypes are about a 1/4 Plate size.
    The images in the case have matching metal inset borders.
    The images have some emulsion loss and a halo type effect due to emulsion discoloration at the top of the images. Please see pictures.
    The images apear to be of a husband and his wife.
