6 ANTIQUE FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHS. These all came together.
1) Seated man in a suit and laced up boots, wearing rings, and holding gloves.
UNMOUNTED. SIZE. Approximately 6 15/16 x 4 15/16 inches. CONDITION. Wear around edges and at corners, including missing emulsion. Large dark and light colored mark at top appears to be in the processing or negative. Imprint of backwards writing at top. Raised gray mark on chair leg at right appears to be old paper. Spots, some soiling, and scuffing, some of which is more apparent when tilted. Back has spots, soiling, 2 pieces of old tape affixed, and some surface wear. APPEARANCE. Beautiful sepia tones. Masterful lighting. Sharp details. Great attire. Handsome man.
2) Wedding photo. The bride and groom are seated side by side, with another woman and man standing behind. Only the groom looks happy. Handwritten in pencil on the back: “Penny.”
SIZE. Photo: Approximately 7 1/8 x 5 inches. Mount: Approximately 9 3/16 x 7 inches. CONDITION. Photo: Missing lower right corner. Vertical tear at lower right. Light wear at upper left corner. White marks on pants of standing man appears to be some sort of residue. Spots, soiling, and scuffing, much of which is more apparent when tilted. Mount: Unevenly trimmed. Wear around edges and at corners, including chipped pieces. Hole at bottom, in center. Front has spots, soiling, and discoloration. Back has a crease at upper right, spots, soiling, residue, and surface wear. APPEARANCE. Excellent tones. Nice lighting.
3) 2 children. The younger child holds a finger of the older child. Pencil handwritten identification on the back: "Angelina Lopez Benny Lopez."
SIZE. Photo: Approximately 3 3/4 inches. Mount: Approximately 8 7/8 x 5 7/8 inches. CONDITION. Photo: Spots, marks, and scuffing. When tilted, some mirroring is apparent. Mount: Lots of wear at lower left corner. Wear at other 3 corners. Front has spots and soiling. Back has soiling and a bit of residue. APPEARANCE. Very good tones. Smaller child is blurry due to movement. Adorable pose with the hands.
4) A young man flanked by two young women.
SIZE. Photo: Approximately 2 3/4 x 3 5/16 inches. Mount: Approximately 5 3/16 x 7 3/16 inches. CONDITION. Photo: A bit of wear along top and bottom edges. A few tiny spots. When tilted, mirroring is apparent. Mount: Wear at corners. Front has some spots at upper left. Back has soiling and some light colored residue. APPEARANCE. Excellent tones. Very good contrast. Especially sharp. Wonderful photograph!
5) A family of five and birds in a birdcage. One child wears overalls.
SIZE. Photo: Approximately 5 x 7 inches. Mount: Approximately 7 x 9 inches. CONDITION: Photo: 2 triangular black marks at top. Small spots and marks. Semi-circular scratch at the top of the building, just to the left of center, which is more apparent when tilted. Mount: Wear at corners, including chipped piece at upper right. 3 holes at bottom. Front has a few spots. Back has a few spots and surface wear. APPEARANCE. Fair to good tones. Nice composition. The birds add some great content.
6) 3 standing women showing an array of styles.
SIZE. Photo: Approximately 5 9/16 x 3 3/4 inches. Mount: Approximately 7 7/8 x 5 7/8 inches. CONDITION. Photo: Raised mark on skirt portion of lady at right appears to be old paper. Small spots. Missing emulsion at upper left corner tip. When tilted, scuffing is apparent. Mount: Wear at corners. Front has spots, some soiling, and scuffing. Back has spots, soiling, scuffing, and a bit of surface wear. APPEARANCE. Good to very good tones. They come across as strong and dignified women.
