Circa 1865 Antique Civil War CDV (carte-de-visite) Photograph. Depiction of officer GENERAL QUINCY ADAMS GILMORE in uniform with sword and hat. Published by E. & H. T. Anthony of New York from a Mathew Brady negative in BRADY'S National Portrait Gallery (see backmark). Period pencil written identification on mount and/or reverse. Two cent Civil War era duty stamp on the reverse. Research indicates that General Gilmore was a West Point graduate, and that he participated in several battles during the American Civil War. Condition: light surface soiling, occasional dings, scuffs, edge wear and foxing spots. chip mount card loss on bottom edge. finger bend in upper left corner.
